We stayed at this hotel because of the access to public transit, and the free hotel van to downtown Madrid, and the airport. While it is not in central Madrid, a very short walk will put you at the nearby Metro stop. After that, you can really go anywhere in Madrid, though the hotel will drop you off downtown as well. This is one of those hotels that you will remember for the rest of your life. It is quite unique, and quite reasonably priced at the time of year we visited. Stay in this hotel for two nights. The location is just beside the Chamartin station, which can easily access both train and metro to anywhere in Madrid or Spain. It was a little short of personnel and they couldnt deliver an iron to the room because there was only one person in the reception at 8am. The Chamartin Station is only 3 stops away from Atocha station via Cercanias approx mins ride. However, it is more than 10 stops away via Metro approx mins ride. To begin with, it takes about 25 mins or so to go from Madrid airport to this hotel. If youre travelling with their Metro system, theres only one transfer of lines to be made.
